Alaska - Day 5 (Highlights: Earthquake Park, The Alaska Zoo, Beluga Point, Turnagain Arm, McHugh Creek)

Again, for day 5, we decided to keep close to Anchorage on a day of less driving.

We started the day at Earthquake Park.  In 1964 a 9.2 Earthquake hit the Anchorage area.  It lasted nearly 4 minutes and was the most powerful recorded earthquake in U.S. history, and the second most powerful ever measured by seismograph.  The area of worst damage has since been turned into Earthquake Park.

Next we headed over to the Alaska Zoo.  It's not very big, but setup well and was nice.  Had a lot of the animals you would want to see.

This guy looked as cold as we were...

Brrrrr....

I'm sorry, but the bear butt was too cute...

We warmed up with some coffee and hot chocolate and then next up was Beluga Point.

And last but not least, we ended the day at Turnagain Arm and McHugh Creek.
